DAY BY DAY ITENERARY
Day 1: Arusha - Arusha National Park
After the briefing, you'll depart from your lodge in Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park. Your visit offers flexibility with three different ways to experience the park:
-
Game Drive: Choose a half-day or full-day game drive, taking you past landmarks like the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater, also known as 'Little Ngorongoro'.
-
Canoe Safari: For an extra cost, enjoy a guided canoe safari on the Momella Lakes, where you can spot bushbuck, giraffes, hippos, and buffalo.
-
Walking Safari: Stretch your legs on a guided walking safari through the park's forest, home to black and white colobus monkeys, zebras, buffalo, and various antelope species.
During your visit, you'll also have the opportunity to observe numerous bird species, including the Crowned Eagle, Lanner Falcon, and Levaillant's Cuckoo. You can mix and match these options as you wish, though both the canoe and walking safaris incur additional costs.
You'll return to your Arusha accomodation at Under The Shade Lodge, filled with memories and a camera full of unforgettable photos.
Day 2: Arusha -Lake Manyara National Park
You'll leave Arusha after breakfast and travel to Lake Manyara National Park, which is two hours' picturesque drive away. You will travel via Mto Wa Mbu, a bustling market town. This busy centre of agriculture is a blending pot of cultures and a veritable gold mine for travellers looking for mementos.
After a quick visit to the town market, you'll reach the magnificent Lake Manyara National Park. The park, which is well-known as a photographer's dream come true, has some of the greatest chances for seeing wildlife worldwide. Many of the famous creatures of Africa may be seen here, but the lions that climb trees are a special attraction. Photographs of these magnificent predators relaxing in acacia trees are simply begging to be taken.
The park's varied bird population is sure to delight bird watchers. Not even inexperienced bird observers will be fascinated by the huge flocks of flamingos, the circling predatory birds, and the brightly coloured lilac-breasted rollers.
Following a full day of amazing wildlife encounters, you'll retire to your accomodation at Farm House Valley Lodge for dinner and a sound sleep.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park
We'll have an early breakfast to get ready for an exciting day full of discovery and adventure!
We start our journey with a beautiful drive into the Serengeti. While travelling through the mist-covered rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you may be able to spot cape buffalo, baboons, elephants, and leopards among the thick vegetation.
You can choose to split the approximately four-hour drive to the Serengeti park gates with one or both of the following alternative activities:
Olduvai Gorge Museum: Often referred to as the Cradle of Mankind, the Oldupai Gorge Museum showcases some of the oldest evidence of human habitation. Here, you can view ancient fossils, learn about early human history, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the gorge.
Maasai Boma Visit: Visit one of the famous Maasai bomas to experience traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic village, and shop for unique souvenirs at the local market. Both activities have additional costs; consult your safari expert to add them to your itinerary.
After a delightful lunch at the Serengeti National Park picnic area, we'll embark on an exploration of the Serengeti itself. Marvel at the iconic African savannah and the multitude of animals that roam the vast grassy plains.
We'll end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Katikati Tented Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation area
After breakfast, we head straight to Ngorongoro Crater National Park. Our drive takes us back through the Serengeti via a different route, offering ample opportunities to spot the animals you may have missed on day two. As far as the eye can see, you'll witness vast herds of animals: wildebeests and zebras migrating together, elegant giraffes, leaping antelopes and gazelles, majestic African elephants, and the most esteemed predators.
You'll have the chance to spot sleek cheetahs, elusive leopards, scavenging hyenas, and of course, the king of the savannah himself: the lion.
Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Farm House Valley in nearby Karatu Town.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at your lodge, you'll make an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. The earlier you get to the Crater floor, the better your chances of spotting rare animals like the Black Rhino. You can choose to descend after breakfast or bring a packed breakfast to maximise your time on the Crater floor.
Spend the morning exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, known for its high concentration of wildlife and its 600 to 650-metre-high walls. With a bit of luck, you might even see all of the Big Five in one day. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo poolside at the designated picnic site. In the afternoon, you'll ascend the Crater rim and exit the Conservation Area, returning to Arusha by late afternoon.

Inside the park, you'll be met by the sight of the Tarangire River, flanked by acacia and baobab trees, with wildlife moving back and forth throughout the day. During the dry season, thousands of animals from the Masai Steppe move to Tarangire in search of water, giving you the opportunity to see a variety of species in a short period of time.
Tarangire is home to endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu and Ashy Starlings.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's picturesque picnic areas, which provide stunning views of the Tarangire River. Keep a tight eye on your meals, as it local monkeys are infamous for stealing delectable treats if given the chance!
